“Where Australian Shiraz Began”
For more than 175 years Wyndham Estate has set the bench mark for quality
Australian wines. It proudly wears the title of industry pioneer, having
exported wines since the 1880s.
In 1828 George Wyndham established his “Dalwood” vineyard on
the Banks of the Hunter River. In 1830 Wyndham planted the first commercial
plantings of Shiraz in Australia, then known as Black Cluster and by 1835
Wyndham made his first Australian wine.
