The fresh water silver perch is farmed at Gloucester by the Native Fish Growers group of producers. Native to the Murray Darling system, silver perch has a firm moist white flesh and a pleasant mild flavour. It lends itself to most styles of cooking and is high in Omega 3.
Trudgalong Farm serves Barrington perch to tour groups for lunch and dinner and packs can also be bought to take home. You may like to catch your own from ponds on the farms.
