A master butcher combines alpaca with non fatty pork meat at a ratio of 55% alpaca and 20% pork.

Then food grade ice, home-grown herbs and spices are added and the mixture is pumped into a natural skin, giving a product that is gluten-free, with no MSG, preservatives or chemicals.

With a fat content of 1.85g on average and a cholesterol level of 5.25g on average, Lahey Downs is the first producer of alpaca viande in Australia.
